So long it isn't even funny. But I did make the alpabet blanket in the mean time
Brychan, my gorgeous nephew.

I had known since Christmas that my sister in law was pregnant and, being a knitter, it was always clear that I would make something for the little one. The problem as that I couldn't decide what to make. Especially as my brother and sister-in-law had decided not to find out the sex of their little one. Which was clearly fine - except that it meant that I couldn't decide what colour to knit a jumper/cardigan in.
And then someone mentioned the Alphabet Blanket (I think that it was Polly who had cast it on too) and I decided that it was the perfect pattern. After all, I really wanted to show my sister-in-law that I really cared and the blanket does require a fair amount of effort.
The one thing that I was surprised about was how easy the pattern ended up being. I really thought that I would find it quite difficult and in fact it was quite a doddle. Don't get me wrong, I think you really do need to pay attention to the pattern repeat, but the wrong side rows are repetitive enough for you to be able to follow an episode of Law & Order without too much difficulty.
