Well it's been a lot longer than I intended. And, to be perfectly truthful with you, I am not even sure that I will carry on blogging or not. After all, life is pretty busy (as it is for everyone) and I spend so much time on Ravelry that I am not entirely sure that there's much point to blogging seeing as I can put my thoughts in the comment section of each of the projects. But, just in case I find I miss it, I've decided to start again and see how it goes. It will be intermittent though, if only because it's really hard to catch good light to take pictures.
I've not much enjoyed knitting of late. I spent the last month and a bit knitting a pair of socks for my father. My father is extremely tall and has feet to match his height. A pair of socks took 3 and a half balls of sock yarn and seemed to go on for ever.
But I think I may have my knitting mojo back thanks to my latest project on the needles, the Textured Shawl (Rav link).

I saw a lady on Ravelry who had knitted this shawl in this yarn / colour combination and I just couldn't help myself so I stalked Old Maiden Aunt's site until she had dyed some more in this colour. (It's a limited edition colour called Ysolda after Ysolda Teague who helped develop the colour. There's more information about it here.)
If you're on Ravelry, it's worth looking up Larissa's notes about how she made here, I found them quite helpful. The only thing is that she knitted the textured part of the shawl so that the stitches mirror each other. I started that way and then discovered, that despite my love of perfection, that was just more than I was prepared to do. It's waaaay too fiddly for me.

I was debating what to do as I didn't think that I'd have the will to finish the shawl when I realised that I'd cast on the wrong number of stitches and so my textured pattern was wrong. So I started again without the mirroring. I am pleased to say that love it and am only a few rows from being finished. Yay!
Good to see you blogging, although I know what you mean about not being sure about keeping it going! Love the shawl.
