Wonderwool

OK so this was ages ago now (nearly 4 weeks) but do bear with me.

Ages ago I was having a chat with Kris and jokingly said to her that she should come over to the UK and come with me to one of the wool shows. Well one thing led to another and a few weeks ago, she showed up at Stanstead and we headed off to Wonderwool Wales.

I didn't take half the pictures I meant to. I didn't get a single picture of me and Kris (nor did she), and I only got the following half decent pictures. I'll be honest, I was completely distracted by all the yarn, hand dyed ribbons, knitting needles, bags and other things that I 'needed' to have.

It was a lovely show. To me, the nicest thing about it was that there were enough people for it to feel busy but not so many people that you weren't able to get near the stands or felt that you were caught up in a stampede. Ally Pally gets a bit that way these days, you have to fight your way to some of the stands and walking down the aisles is a real struggle.

See? Busy and bustling by not overcrowded.

Kris and I may have bought yarn. A fair amount of yarn even. Here's a shot of all (or maybe just some) of what we bought.

There's some gorgeous Knitwitches in there (It's beautiful yarn. If you've been to Eirwen's site and hesitated, trust me, the pictures on her site don't do her yarn justice), some Colinette Jitterbug, some Malabrigo, some Tinctoria and rather more Posh Yarns than I intended.

But having seen the Posh Yarns stand, how on earth was I meant to resist? Kris and I went back there more than once. To Dee and Tony's amusement.

We also saw a few alpacas.

These ones are particularly cute.

Finally I got to meet Wye Sue who I failed to take a picture of. But I did get a picture of this.

Her Daffodil tea shawl from 'Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting' by Marianne Kinzel. Perfect for Wales and absolutely stunning.

Oooh, I was there too, your haul looks beautiful, such a lovely selection of colours. I really enjoyed the show, as you say, just the right amount of busy.

The show looks like fun especially the yarn shopping. There was a craft show last weekend but I didn't go as there's only a couple of knitting type stalls.
