It's funny - Polly keeps laughing at me because my stash on Ravelry is full of green. She's quite right, I do seem to have rather a lot of green yarn in my stash.
So someone needs to explain to me how come I seem to be knitting in nothing but pinks and purples at the moment. Dandelion is purple (Dandelion is finished by the way, I just can't seem to get a decent picture of her). Jacqueline's Anna socks are purple. Jacqui's Myrtille Wedding shawl is purple. And so are the two baby cardigans that I am working on at the moment.
This shot doesn't show you much but I just wanted to show off my lovely pouch again (I love my pouch).

This is actually the Ribbon Edged Cardigan from Debbie Bliss' Special Knits.

I rather enjoyed knitting this as it's very simple but interesting enough to keep you paying a little attention.

I don't much like it when you get to this stage and have to sew it up. (Like I said in my last post, I really don't much like sewing).

But it's worth it once you get it to this stage and all of the ends are sewn in and out of the way. Now I just need to decide if I want to buy the ribbon or if my version will be the ribon-less version. After all, I managed to make an argyle-less argyle sweater so it's not that I am not used to doing the pared down version...
I have just ordered some silk laceweight yarn from Sundara so I promise that I will soon have some more interesting knitting to show off. I am accutely aware that there have been a lot of baby knits and rather more stocking stitch than I would like. I need to start challenging myself!
Posted by Amelia at February 16, 2008 09:37 AMHI...totally unrelated BUT recently when browsing some blogs....maybe from your site or Victorian Lace..I found a really really cool site with funky and gorgeous patterns on for sale, cami's and summery tops. It was a shop site I think and a US one perhaps..Now of course I can't find it????Could anyone help???
Please???
I have my eye on this cardigan, I'm knitting the Fair Isle from the same book atm. Thanks so much for the test-run! I was not going to go for the ribbon, I thought it looked like a great basic everyday cardigan without. Have you some pretty buttons?
Posted by: Sam at February 18, 2008 08:06 PMThis is such a lovely baby cardigan and I especially like the two before-and-after pictures. I am like you not very much fond of the blocking and sewing part, but your pictures told me that this great and drastic change is worth every effort (and pain).
Let me thank you also very very much for your warm welcome back, I appreciated it a lot.
Best wishes, Suzi
And please donīt stop showing baby designs, you are always such a great inspiration for me and who knows - maybe I need a baby present, too, some day, maybe even soon.
It is lovely already but the ribbon just makes it so special. Do it ! Do it ! I did btw about a year ago for a friend so I know it makes it really extra gorgeous :0)

Posted by: Heather at February 18, 2008 06:54 PMIt's so gorgeous & I love the color. I think it looks great even without the ribbon. Can't wait to see what you have in mind for the lace weight.
Posted by: Ann at February 17, 2008 11:36 PMLove the little jacket! I seem to remember telling you that purple counted as a neutral. So how come I've been knitting with greens?
Posted by: Yvonne at February 16, 2008 07:28 PMBeautiful little sweater! I vote for the ribbon (not that you asked) because the neck seems a little big without it.
