Socks on show

Yay! I finally finished something! My official first FO of 2008. And about time too really. I keep spreading myself too thin and working on too many projects at the same time, it doesn't seem to make for much finishing.

Here are the socks pre-blocking.

Double Eyelet Rib Socks

I love the before and after pictures, it amazes me how much better stocking stitch looks after a good blocking. I know that every knitting book tells you this but it still makes me wonder how it can make quite as much of a difference. It feels like magic to me.

So here's the post blocking shot. Nice humm?

Double Eyelet Rib Socks

Well I think so and I think that Jacqui will to. And as they are made of Dream in Color Smooshy, they should be rather comfy to wear too. Always a bonus.

Double Eyelet Rib Socks

I am rather pleased with the toes. As I said in my last post, these were my first toe up socks and I think that they have come out rather well.

And I like the way the heels look too. I wasn't too sure how they would turn out as I was struggling to visualise how a heel knitted as per Wendy's instructions would look, but it worked out beautifully in the end.

Double Eyelet Rib Toe-up Socks
- The pattern: Double Eyelet Rib Toe-up Socks by Wendy of Wendy Knits

- The yarn: Dream in Color Smooshy in the colour Lipstick Lava

- The needles: Clover Bamboo dpns in 2.5mm.

- Size: The pattern is one size. Jacqui has teeny tiny feet so I made these for a size 37 foot. Mind you, they were originally bigger but when she tried them on, they were too big so I frogged the sock back to the foot and reworked the length of the foot and the rest of the sock.

- Started: November 2007.

- Finished: January 2007.

Lovely - what a gorgeous colour ! I have some blue Smooshy in my stash which is calling out to me but I want to finish some WIP's first.

I'm thinking about a trip southwards in the next couple of months as I'm needing some "me " time for reasons I won't bore you with. So once I have a date I'll let you know !

They are gorgeous and sooooo comfy - perfect for winter! I've never had a pair of socks fit me so perfectly, I didn't take them off all weekend :)

Feeling very, very lucky to have such a lovely friend :)

Oh Dear! These are gorgeous. Beatifully knit, toe up, and in a yarn I haven't knit with. My credit card and my non-sock knitting are doomed. They are lovely socks and Jacqui is a very lucky friend.

Those socks are fabulous, lovely pattern and gorgeous colour, The Dream in colour yarns looks exactly like it's title, I can see a skein of that being added to my stash really soon ;)

The socks are lovely & they look great for a 1st timer in toe-up. Love the color too & Dream In Color yarn is one of my favorites.
