Lots of hats

Wow, people have been really generous. The hats have already started pouring in so I thought I would share those that I have received with you. Well some of them, this will keep me in blog fodder for days!

First though, this arrived in the post the other day.

Parcel from Innocent Drinks

You see, I emailed Innocent Drinks and told them about my prize draw for all of the lovely people knitting me hats and (rather cheekily as they are already giving 50p per hat) asked them if they would donate a prize to the draw. And they said yes! They really are lovely people.

So here is the Innocent Smoothie Recipe Book that you could win if you send me a hat or two. Surely that on its own is worth it?

Mind you, I have been positively swamped by hats already.

These are from the lovely Lin. She was the first to send me some. I'd barely cast on for my first one when these showed up in the post.

Lin's Innocent Hats

I particularly love her tufts on the hats, they are really sweet.

Next I received these hats from Sally.

And that's only half of them!

Here are some of the ones that I made:

Amelia's Innocent Hats

And there are still hats from Hilda, Jill and more from Sally to show. Unfortunately the pictures that I took last week didn't come out very well so I am waiting for a bit of sunshine to take some better ones.

And I've been looking through my stash to find nice prizes so come on, knit me a few hats, it'll be worth it!

Dear Amelia,

I will be sending the little hats with pompoms I knitted for the Innoncent Drink's charity project tomorrow, Monday July 16, 2007. I will keep you apprised of the approximate date of receipt as soon as my package is in the mail.

Regards,

Lise Ranger (a.k.a.Giulietta) from Montreal, QC

Agh, guilt-trip! I haven't knit any hats for 4 days now! I'm lagging behind! I'll have to knit like a mad fiend to catch up to where I want to be.

I'm hoping to be able to send you at least 50 hats when I send off the box to you in August.

That's a lot of hats! I must get going with my hats too.

BTW, thanks for your help at yarn shopping at Liberty.

I love the modelled shots... I hope you got to drink the smoothie after the photo shoot !

Oh dear, that's making my two hats that I've done so far look completely pathetic! Must try harder, must try harder ..... They are fun to do though, and so quick. I'll settle down this evening and make a few.

Ok - it doesn't get much cuter than that - WOW!! I love your big fat pompoms too - they look great!

Those hats look great. I've got some on the needles - and the blog - for you. To make a pom-pom of the right size, I wound some white wool around a dpn pack about 15 times then slid it off and tied it round the middle before cutting it. This made a bobble less than an inch in diameter.

Those hats are great - aren't they a bit fiddly to knit? I think you left a lovely comment on my blog? It took about 3 and a half balls to complete Birch - I think my gauge might have been a bit too loose (I didn't really worry about it too much!).

Don't they all look great! I wish I knew how to make bobbles, I must ask my 10 year old! That was generous of the drinks people too.
