Handmaiden sea silk

Just might be my favourite yarn in the world. I know I've said it before but this combination of colour, softness and the end result. Wow. It's just lovely.

Full points go to Mandella for guessing that the p5 were nupps. Which were part of this.

Interweave Knits Swallowtail shawl

It's the Swallowtail shawl from Interweave Knits. Here's a slightly better shot.

And here it is all ready to be sent out to it's recipient.

Who has received it and apparently thinks it's beautiful. Now where should I go to buy myself some more Handmaiden sea silk to make one for me?

Oh, it's so nice to be right! And the double whammy is that I am sitting here fondling a skein of seasilk at the moment and wondering what it wants to be.

The shawl is gorgeous & the yarn too. I had just knitted a Swallowtail shawl with 4ply merino & had the same problem with the nupps & will love to try with the Handmaiden silk.

That is simply beautiful - pattern, colour, yarn- it's got the lot. I would have had a hard job parting with that.

Oh, and while you're being all secretive about the other gift knitting, feel like joining in on a meme? I've tagged you in my blog--see it for details.

That is a beautiful shawl! I love the sea silk, I'm going to have to gete some for myself! I'm almost done with my Swallowtail, I've been using Kidsilk Haze, but yours is so beautiful.

Hi Amelia,
I love your lovely Swallowtail in that pretty green colour!
I´m a long time reader and lurker on your blog – and I always admire your neat knits and choice of colours.

That´s why I feel you´d be able to give me some good advice, if you have the time?
I´ll be going to London in October (so I can visit Ally Pally), and I´d be very greatful if you could give me some tips on any other good yarn shops that could be worth a visit.

Divine as your knits always are!

That is one intensely lovely shawl. Congratulations! How much Sea Silk did it take?

I have a skein of Seasilk in my stash right now, but no idea what it knit with it. I want a pattern that's worthy of such a good yarn.

But my question really is, what's the drape like? t looks like it would have a nice drape, since the yarn's so light and flexible, but I've been fooled in the past.

The colour is divine, your knitting gorgeous!

Stash have some of the larger skeins of yarn -600m instead of 400m. I agree, it's gorgeous, and so is your swallowtail.

Oh, *wow*. That shawl is really, really gorgeous - what a lucky recipient!! I've been hearing a lot about this yarn recently, and think it might be the first thing I buy after my stash-enhancement embargo is lifted.
