Saleknitter quite rightly asked the name of the pattern and I realised that I hadn't said what it was. Must. Pay. More. Attention.
The blanket is the Lace and Bobble blanket from Debbie Bliss' "Cotton Knits for All Seasons" book. There's a guernsey dress and a pair of booties that use the same repeat so you could make a really nice set for a baby. Me? I'm sticking to a slightly bigger version of the blanket.
I've made some good progress, this picture was taken before the weekend and I hope to have finished the blanket before the end of the week.

I have to send a big thank you to Sharon Brant at Rowan who just about saved me from going mad on this blanket. Once the blanket starts getting a bit bigger, all of that having to turn the blanket to work the bobble really starts to get on the tedious side to put it lightly. And then the latest edition of Simply Knitting arrived on my doorstep with a top tip from Sharon Brant on how to work a bobble without having to turn your work.

It basically involves moving the stitches from one needle to another in order to work them a second time. Simple really but the kind of thing I'd never have thought of if I hadn't been told. Excellent timing for it to be printed just when I needed it too!

Posted by: Maggie at November 15, 2006 01:36 PMThanks. The blanket is gorgeous! I am about to start one myself...just haven't picked out the pattern yet. I'm in the "preview" stage.
