Good Cheer

I mentioned back in April that I was going to a Finishing Techniques class with Jane Crowfoot and that I had cast on Cheer (by Kim Hargreaves) so that I could be shown how to set in sleeves properly.

Despite the fact that it is a stocking stitch cardigan with a moss stitch border (and I am the Queen of Moss Stitch) I managed to get it all wrong and only managed to finish knitting it the night before the class. Talk about putting yourself under pressure.

Cheer

But here she is, all done and dusted. I am (this is me that we are talking about) not quite happy about the way the sleeves are set in but it is one hell of a lot better than anything else that I have sewn up to date.

I am no longer scared of set in sleeves. WOO HOO!

I love it! I am scared to set in sleeves, too. That's why I only do raglan sleeves! HAHA!

This is beautiful, love the colour and I, too, love moss stitch! http://www.castoncastoff.co.uk/blog/2005/11/23/mist/ This is a great knit, you made this before? I can't wait to wear fitted things again, am too pregnant at the moment! :-)

Amelia, it's lovely! I can't see anything wrong with the set in sleeve. You should see the mess I've made sewing up a summer tweed jumper!

Amelia, that is one classy cardigan. I had a nightmare myself with the buttonholes on it! I thought you said you were going to knit it as a sweater though?

Now I want to knit this one too!

I love the cardigan. The colour looks great and the set in sleeves look good from here too. I've just finished a sweater in which I had to sew the sleeve and bodice seams using invisible stitch, something I had never done before. Naturally, I was frightened but now that I know how, I feel quite confident to do it again.

Beautiful, and such a great colour on you too. I love the way moss stitch looks but I'm not a great fan of knitting it, you may just have changed my mind about it though.
