Pieces of eight, pieces of eight

There are parrots on Hampstead Heath! I told the husband this the other day but I think he thought it was a load of codswollop. And then today I saw them when I had my camera.

Parrots

Local rumour has it that they escaped from London zoo. All I can say is that they seemed to be having the time of their lives in the next door neighbour's garden. My neighbour says that she has seen up to 10 of them at a go. It made my day.

My next interview is tomorrow. Wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow morning at 11am!

I swear they are ring-necked or Quaker parrots that we have ALL OVER the park here in S. Florida. Must have 5 huge nests and 50 or so of them. and when they flock to eat or fly away, what noise!

thinking good thoughts for you on the interview- I am sure it will work out just perfectly.

and I dont think those are too exotic of parrots. If I had a close up I could prolly Id them for you (mother bred exotic birds growing up)

yes I know the oddities continue to accumulate :)

I'm a little late with my good wishes for the interview, bit I do hope that they saw sense and offered you the job at a salary of gazillions.

We've got them in our garden too - there's a colony of them in Chiswick House Grounds. I think their official name is ring-necked parrakeets?

Don't think you will need any luck - you'll walk it....

We've got a large flock of parakeets that steal the pears from my tree in the summer - great fun to watch.

Good luck with the interview this morning

Beautiful birds! Good luck on the interview tomorrow, let us know how things go.

There's a flock of them in Richmond Park too - I think they must be colonising all of London's parks. They provide a nice flash of colour on a winter's day, although I'm not sure how the native birds fare with them around. Good luck with the interview!

There's flocks of the things at Kew Gdns also. Bit spooky, seeing this non-native birds roosting in the trees.

Dawn :)
